ID Requirements & Age Policies
Q: I'm under 18 and I want to get pierced OR I'm bringing someone under 18 to get pierced. What do I need to bring?
A: Two things are required for the child.
1. Presentation of the child's birth certificate to prove parent/child relationship. If you are not the biological parent and possess legal guardianship, you must present your guardianship paperwork issued by the court.
2. A state or government-issued ID. This can be a passport, state ID card, or drivers license/permit. A school ID is only acceptable if it contains the child's name, and photo.
- All that is required for the parent is a state or government-issued ID.
This can be a drivers license, state ID, or passport.
- The parent/guardian must be physically present
- These are the only documents we will accept as proof.
We will not accept insurance cards/policies or social security cards.
Please do not bring your child's social security card.
Q: I'm over 18 and I want to get pierced. What do I need to bring?
A: A valid state or government-issued ID.
This can be a drivers license, state ID, or passport.
- A school ID with a birth certificate will not be accepted for clients over 18.
Q: How old do I have to be to get pierced?
A: Age limits will be listed next to each piercing service on our booking site.
- Earlobes have a minimum age requirement of 5 years old. We do not pierce infants.
- Any other ear piercing not on the earlobe has a minimum age requirement of 14 years old.
- If you cannot find a specific service for minors, it is because that service is not offered for minors.
Safety Advisories
Q: I play sports and need to remove my jewelry for games. When can I do that?
A: Bare minimum- initial full heal.
- The initial full heal will be different for everyone. For earlobes, this can take up to 4 to 6 months on average.
We recommend waiting until after your sports season to get pierced.
- We discourage taping or band-aiding your piercings for games.
It is best to let your fresh wound breathe.
Q: How soon can I swim after getting my ears pierced?
A: At least 2 months of no swimming.
- This counts for oceans, pools, lakes, jacuzzies- fresh piercings should not be submerged in any of these bodies of water.
- Please plan around your summer trips. If you plan on visiting places where you intend to swim, it is highly recommended that you wait to get pierced until after vacation.
Submerging your fresh piercing in the ocean and even a chlorinated pool is a high infection risk.
Q: Does it hurt? Can you numb it?
A: Yes, it hurts. But our team strives to provide a quick and comfortable experience.
- We do not use numbing agents for any piercing and ask that you do not apply numbing products to your skin/body before your procedure. If we notice the presence of numbing agents (visible cream or abnormal tissue distortion) we will not pierce you, and you will lose your deposit.
- Numbing agents will distort the tissue. While your piercings will look cute and straight initially, you may notice dramatic changes in angle and position soon after.
Jewelry
Q: Can I bring in jewelry to be pierced with?
A: No.
- For insurance and legal purposes, we can only pierce you with jewelry that is untouched and purchased from our studio.
- If the jewelry was purchased from us prior to your piercing, it must still be in the sealed sterilization pouch you received it in.
- Under no circumstances will we sterilize worn pieces of jewelry.
Q: I have sensitive ears. What is your jewelry made out of?
A: We only carry jewelry made from the safest and most bio-compatible materials that exist today.
- At our studio, there are a total of 4:
- Solid gold (both 18k and 14k in yellow, rose, and white)
- ASTM F-136 implant-grade Titanium
- ASTM F-138 implant-grade stainless steel
- Commercially pure Niobium
Q: Which manufacturers do you carry?
A: Our inventory primarily consists of California-based wholesale manufacturers such as:
- BVLA (Body Vision Los Angeles)
- Anatometal
- Industrial Strength
- Neometal
- These companies have a lifetime satisfaction guarantee and warranty.
The warranty covers damaged jewelry, not lost jewelry.
Refund, Return, & Repair Policies
We do not offer refunds or returns on jewelry.
We offer jewelry repairs or replacements for defects only.
Repairs and replacements are handled by the manufacturer the defected piece was made by.
Below is a list of various jewelry-related issues and how they're handled at our studio.
- In the rare event that a piece of jewelry is defective or becomes defective during wear, it is covered by a manufacturer's defect warranty. This could be things like: a stone falling out or a pin snapping.
- Manufacturer jewelry warranties do not cover loss.
If your jewelry falls out due to a suspected defect, please do your best to recover it.
We can only have pieces repaired or replaced if we have the original piece in our possession.
- We do not refund clients who experience buyer's remorse.
Our staff works diligently to ensure that you are comfortable with the price and satisfied with how the jewelry looks on your ear, face, etc. You may take all the time you need to compare your options at the jewelry cases, however, once a piece of jewelry is in your body, we can no longer put that piece in anyone else but you.
We always recommend letting us install jewelry for you- not only to ensure it is being done safely, but to ensure that things will fit the way you want them to fit. If you are in a rush and choose to leave with the jewelry and install it yourself, the jewelry is yours the moment it leaves the studio.
If you realize later that the jewelry wont fit, we cannot take the jewelry back and we will not refund you.
Booking System & Policies
We do all appointment booking through our booking site.
Please do not call, text, or email to book.
If you have other questions that were not answered on these FAQ's please call us.
-Rescheduling & Cancellation Policies-
- Changes to your appointment, such as reschedules and cancellations must be made 24 hours before your appointment time if you wish to have your booking cost refunded or transferred.
- Appointment changes made after 24 hours from your appointment time will result in the loss of your booking cost and a possible $25 late cancellation/reschedule/no-call-no-show fee.
- Cancelling or rescheduling a piercing or jewelry appointment 2 hours prior to your slot will result in a $25 late cancellation/reschedule fee on top of losing your deposit.
- No-call, no-shows will be charged a $25 fee on top of losing their deposit.
-When Booking, Keep In Mind-
- Appointments are for one person only. You must book separate appointments if multiple people are getting pierced.
If you book one appointment for multiple people, your request will be declined.
- Please ensure that your booking is correct. We do not issue refunds for mistakenly booked services.
- If you come to your appointment without the necessary forms of ID, we do not refund your booking cost. This goes for minors and adults. An ID is required in order to get pierced.
- If you bring a child in for a piercing and they become too nervous to proceed, we unfortunately do not refund your booking cost. It may be wise to bring your child in prior to booking an appointment to get a feel for readiness!
- When you book online, you cover the cost of your piercing service fees, but you also purchase our time. We honor your patronage and will not service any other clients during that time. This is primarily the reason for non-refundable booking costs if we are unable to complete your service due to any of the reasons listed above.
Studio Etiquette For Everyone's Safety and Comfort
-Germs-
- We ask that you please refrain from touching or removing your piercings in the studio.
If you brought jewelry in for us to install for you, please bring it in a sealed, clear, zip-lock bag.
This allows us to be able to see the jewelry without needing to remove or set the jewelry down on the front counter.
- If we see you attempting to remove jewelry, we will be swift to politely remind you not to remove your jewelry and provide you with hand sanitizer. We don't want you to take offense or feel embarrassed! It is just our goal to maintain cleanliness in the studio for the safety of others.
- Our bathroom is not a place that is okay to switch your own jewelry.
Please either let us install/remove jewelry for you, or wait till you get home.
- Touching studio jewelry is forbidden. This jewelry will eventually end up in someone's body.
All team members handle your jewelry with gloves to uphold our high cleanliness standards.
Please do not reach for jewelry inside the cases or grab jewelry from a team member's hands.
-Large Parties-
- We love a spontaneous piercing trip! Walk-in's are welcome where time permits and we try our best to accommodate large parties. But we can run into some trouble if a group of more than 4 people are coming in to watch one person get pierced. We ask that your non-piercee friends wait outside while you and a couple moral support friends hang out in the studio.
Thank you for helping us maintain a calm environment for other clients who may be nervous!
- Please ask your piercer what their preferred capacity is in their room.
- Please ask your piercer if pictures/videos are okay before you take pictures or videos. You may be asked to wait in the lobby if you fail to ask for consent.
-ZERO TOLERANCE-
We will not tolerate any form or amount of verbal assault or harassment.
Please thoroughly read through our FAQ's and policies.
